Kioti Work Lights and Tractor Lights: Compact and Utility Models
In this guide
Kioti work lights and tractor lights vary by range: CS sub-compacts and CK and DK compacts typically have 2 bonnet headlamps, fender-mounted rear lamps and 1 or 2 small work lamps, while NX, RX and HX utility tractors add cab-roof work lamps and more lighting options. All Kioti tractors run 12V, so most owners upgrade with 12V or multi-voltage LED work lamps.
This guide covers how Kioti lighting is laid out on compact and utility models, how to identify your range before ordering, bulb and voltage notes, the LED upgrade path, beacons for road work, and buying tips for ROPS and cab tractors.
How Kioti Tractor Lighting Works
A Kioti tractor lighting system is the set of headlamps, work lamps, sidelights, indicators and rear lamps fitted for yard, field and road use, wired through a 12V negative-earth electrical system. On a compact tractor it is a small system: a pair of headlamps, rear combination lamps, hazard and indicator lamps, and 1 or 2 work lamps. Utility and cab models add roof work lamps, beacon mounts and cab interior lights.
Kioti is the tractor brand of Daedong, a South Korean agricultural machinery maker founded in 1947 in Jinju. Daedong built engines from 1949 and moved into power tillers, tractors and combines soon after. The first Kioti compact tractor was introduced in the USA in 1986, and the brand’s North American headquarters moved to Wendell, North Carolina in 2004. In the UK, Reco sold Kioti from 2001 until early 2016, when the Netherlands-based Pols Group took over distribution through Kioti UK. In 2026 Kioti UK was acquired by SMT GB.
Kioti tractors are popular with smallholders, landscapers, equestrian yards, groundcare contractors and estates, which shapes their lighting needs. Most work is done close to the tractor at low speed: loading, mowing, yard scraping and snow clearing. Good wide-beam work lamps matter more than long-range driving lamps.
Identifying Your Kioti Before Ordering
A Kioti model is confirmed by the decal on the bonnet side and the serial plate. The letters give the range and the digits give a rough horsepower figure and generation, so a CK2610 is a CK range compact of around 26 hp and a DK6010 a DK of around 60 hp.
| Range | Type | Typical power | Typical factory lighting |
|---|---|---|---|
| CS and CX | Sub-compact and small compact | Around 20 to 30 hp | 2 bonnet headlamps, fender rear lamps, small work lamp options |
| CK | Compact | Around 25 to 40 hp | 2 bonnet headlamps, rear combination lamps, 1 or 2 rear work lamps |
| DK (including DK10 from 2014) | Larger compact | Around 45 to 60 hp | Bonnet headlamps, fender or ROPS work lamps, cab roof lamps on cab models |
| NS and NX | Compact utility | Around 45 to 60 hp | Bonnet headlamps, roof work lamps front and rear on cab models |
| RX | Utility | Around 60 to 73 hp | Bonnet headlamps, cab-roof work lamps, beacon provision |
| PX | Utility (previous range) | Around 95 to 110 hp | Bonnet headlamps, cab-roof work lamps |
| HX | Utility (from 2023; HX1302 and HX1402 from 2025 are the largest Kioti) | Above 100 hp | Cab-roof work lamp packages |
ROPS or Cab
Most Kioti ranges are sold in ROPS (rollbar) and cab versions, and the 2 have different lamp positions. A ROPS tractor carries its work lamps on the fenders or the rollbar; a cab tractor carries them on the roof edge. Note which you have before choosing brackets.
Market Specification
Kioti tractors are built for several markets, and lamp layouts can differ between specifications. If your tractor was imported or bought second-hand, check that the indicators, rear lamps and headlamps meet Irish requirements before taking it on the road, rather than assuming they do.
Kioti Headlamps
A Kioti headlamp is the dipped and main beam road lamp set into the front of the bonnet on most models. Bulb types vary by range and generation, so remove the old bulb and read the code on its base before ordering. Where the headlamp is a sealed LED unit on a recent model, it is replaced as a complete assembly.
Bonnet headlamps on a compact tractor sit low and are blocked by a raised front loader, which is why many Kioti owners add a pair of forward work lamps on the ROPS or cab roof. Those are work lamps, not headlamps, and should be switched off on the road. Our tractor headlights guide explains the difference.
Kioti Work Lights
A Kioti work light is a field or yard lamp mounted on the fender, ROPS, cab roof or loader. Compact CK and DK ROPS tractors typically have 1 or 2 small rear work lamps for hitching and mower work. Cab models in the DK, NX and RX ranges typically have front and rear roof work lamps.
Factory work lamps on compact tractors are modest, and replacing or adding LED lamps is the most common lighting change. The compact tractor work lights guide covers output and sizing for smaller machines in detail.
Where to Add Work Lamps on a Kioti
- ROPS front: 2 forward lamps above the loader, angled to cover the bucket.
- ROPS rear or fender: 1 or 2 rear lamps for the hitch, mower or box blade.
- Cab roof: 2 front and 2 rear lamps on the roof edge for cab models.
- Loader: small lamps on the loader arms, with cables routed clear of the pivot points.
Choosing LED Work Lamps for a Compact
For loader and yard work, flood beam lamps of around 1,500 to 3,000 lumens each suit a compact Kioti. Compact, square or round lamps with a single-bolt base fit ROPS brackets well. Browse our 12V work lamps, all of which suit Kioti electrics.
Kioti Beacons and Road Lighting
Since 1 January 2016, a tractor used on an Irish public road needs a full working lighting system at all times, not just during lighting-up hours: side lamps, headlamps, rear lamps, stop lamps, indicators, number plate lighting and a flashing amber beacon. The beacon must be switched on whenever the tractor is on a public road, compact Kiotis included. Older tractors (pre-1980, or 30+ years old according to current RSA guidance) used only in daylight are exempt from the full system. The tractor road legal lights guide covers the full kit.
Most Kioti ROPS tractors have no factory beacon mount, so owners use a magnetic beacon (fitted every time the tractor goes on the road) on a steel plate or a bolt-on bracket on the rollbar. Cab models usually take a roof-mounted beacon. A low-profile LED beacon is worth considering if you work under trees or go in and out of low sheds. Browse our tractor beacons.
Kioti Rear Lights and Indicators
A Kioti rear lamp combines tail, stop and indicator functions and is usually mounted on the rear fenders. On compact tractors the rear lamps sit close to the tyres and are easily damaged by branches and implements, so they are one of the most often replaced lamps.
- Stop and tail: typically twin-filament bulbs or an LED unit, depending on generation.
- Indicators: amber lamps front and rear, sometimes combined with the rear lamp.
- Number plate: a small lamp on the rear lamp bracket or a separate plate holder.
Read the bulb code from the old bulb, and photograph the lamp’s mounting and plug. If the original lamp is no longer available, an E-marked universal rear lamp of a similar size is a practical replacement.
Bulb and Voltage Notes
- 12V system: Kioti tractors run 12V. Buy 12V bulbs, or multi-voltage LED lamps rated for 12V and 24V.
- Small alternators: compact tractors have limited charging capacity. Switching to LED cuts the load, which matters if you add several lamps.
- Relay and fuse: wire extra lamps through a relay and inline fuse with power taken from the battery, not by splicing into the factory work lamp circuit.
- Flashers: LED indicator bulbs can cause rapid flashing on a flasher designed for filament bulbs. Fit an LED-compatible flasher or load resistors.
- Waterproofing: compact tractors are often washed down. Choose lamps rated IP67 or better and seal any new connections.
Upgrading a Kioti from Halogen to LED
The LED upgrade on a Kioti is mostly about work lamps. Replacing a halogen work lamp of around 55W with an LED lamp of around 15W to 30W gives more usable light for less current, which suits the smaller electrical system on a CK or DK. Add a relay, a fuse and a separate switch if you are fitting more than the original circuit was built for.
For road headlamps, complete approved (E-marked) LED headlamp units are the legal upgrade, not LED bulbs in halogen reflectors. RSA guidance says LED bulbs are only legal if they are type-approved, fitted to a compatible vehicle and the beam does not dazzle, and an unapproved kit fails the NCT on a car. Ordinary tractors do not take a periodic test, but the same type-approval principle applies on the road.
Parts Crossover
Kioti has no sister tractor brand in Ireland or the UK, so there is no group parts catalogue to cross-reference in the way AGCO or CNH owners can. Genuine Kioti lamps come through Kioti dealers by serial number. For work lamps, beacons and most rear lamps, universal E-marked lamps of the right size and mounting are the usual route. If you run other compacts as well, the tractor light fitment guide explains how to match lamps on any make.

Frequently asked questions
Are Kioti tractors 12V?
Yes. Kioti tractors run 12V electrics, so 12V bulbs and 12V or multi-voltage LED work lamps are correct.
What are the best work lights for a Kioti compact tractor?
Compact flood beam LED work lamps of around 1,500 to 3,000 lumens each suit most Kioti CK and DK tractors. Mount 2 on the ROPS front above the loader and 1 or 2 at the rear, and wire them through a relay and fuse.
Can I put a beacon on a Kioti ROPS tractor?
Yes, and in Ireland you need one whenever the tractor is on a public road. Most owners use a magnetic beacon on a steel plate or a bolt-on bracket on the rollbar. A low-profile LED beacon is less likely to catch on branches and shed doors.
Where do I find replacement Kioti headlights?
Genuine Kioti headlamps come through Kioti dealers by serial number. Check the bulb code first, because a failed bulb is far more common than a failed headlamp unit.
